Sample valves

Overview

ASEPCO Weirless Radial diaphragm™ sample valve

ASEPCO sampling valves are specifically designed for applications where leakage, dead legs, and cross-contamination are unacceptable. Mounted on the wall of the vessel just above the knuckle, they are equipped with the unique ASEPCO port that allows through-the-chamber CIP/SIP flow between sampling to ensure a truely representative sample every time.

Features and benefits

  • Improved cleanability created by the angle of the fittings entering the valve body
  • Excellent drainability created by the diamond shaped inside the valve chamber
  • Allows closer jacketing to tank because fittings are angled away from vessel at a quicker rate
  • Improved tank cleanability because the diaphragm seals on the ID at the vessel wall
  • Unique ASEPCO port that allows through the chamber CIP/SIP, ensuring a truly representative sample every time
  • Simple “Sample and Steam” valve body allows full steaming while valve is closed
  • Simplifies maintenance to reduce downtime and the total cost of ownership
  • Sampling that is truly representative of your process fluid

Tank sampling

Tank sampling

Using the 4-valve rig from ASEPCO is the easiest and most reliable way to take a truly representative sample in an uncontrolled environment.

Step-by-step:

  • Autoclave a bagged sample bottle with a filter and an ASEPCO valve (V3) sealing the opening.
  • Unbag the sample bottle as shown, connecting the closed V3 to the closed tank sample Valve V2.
  • Steam behind the flow paths of V2 and V3 as shown in pink.
  • Close steam source (V1) and condensate drain (V4). You now have a sterile path between your process and your sample bottle.
  • Open the sample bottle (V3) and the tank sample valve (V2), and take your sample as shown in blue.
  • Close the sample valve (V2), then the sample receptacle valve (V3). Drain V4 (lose less than 15 ml of product with the ASEPCO close-coupled condensate valve) and remove your sample bottle.

Following these steps offers consistent, repeatable and reliable sampling at any time during the process. Using the behind-the-seat flowpath design of ASEPCO valves ensures the absolute aseptic control of your sample.

Actuators

Actuators

The AKS actuator series** for tank valves is a durable, easy to maintain actuator made of a plastic housing and stainless steel diaphragm interface. The resulting actuator is a hygienic design which is GMP-compliant. Our tank valve actuators are also available in the AJS actuator series an all stainless steel actuator providing all the same performance, but in a heavy-duty package. Both versions offer manual and pneumatic options, are provided with laser-etched serial numbers for traceability, and carry a market-leading three year warranty. It is straightforward to add automation to the pneumatic versions by mounting switches or controllers from any manufacturer. Work with all manufacturers linear switches and controllers (i.e. Westlock, Stonel, Burkert, etc.) **AKS actuator series only available on 0.5" to 1.5" sizes
