Watson-Marlow Fluid Technology Solutions (WMFTS)
has achieved EcoVadis Gold and Platinum Medals for responsible business practices at five of its seven manufacturing sites.

The improved results place each of the five sites among the top 5% of more than 150,000 companies assessed by EcoVadis during the previous 12 months.

EcoVadis ratings measure the quality of a company’s sustainability management system through its policies, actions and results. Four WMFTS sites improved their EcoVadis rating from Silver to Gold after the introduction of additional policies and measures, and the publication of a sustainability report. Another site achieved the higher Platinum Medal earlier this year.

EcoVadis assesses companies across four key areas: environment; labour and human rights; ethics, and sustainable procurement. WMFTS was able to demonstrate an advanced sustainability management system that covered those four areas.

The company’s highest-ever EcoVadis sustainability scores reflect the work to embed sustainability at WMFTS production sites and strengthen responsible practices. The four sites which improved from Silver to Gold are:

  • Watson-Marlow Pumps and Watson-Marlow Tubing: Falmouth, UK, with a score of 84/100
  • WMFTS: Devens, USA, with a score of 86/100 (an improvement of 16 points)
  • Bredel Hose Pumps: Delden, The Netherlands, with a score of 83/100
  • MasoSine: Ilsfeld, Germany, with a score of 83/100

The site that achieved Platinum Medal in August 2026, placing it in the top 1% of companies evaluated by EcoVadis, was:

  • Aflex Hose: Huddersfield, UK, with a score of 89/100

Two other WMFTS sites achieved Silver Medals, ranking them in the top 15% of companies assessed by EcoVadis:

  • BioPure: Portsmouth, UK, with a score of 77/100 (an improvement of 9 points)
  • Flexicon: Ringsted, Denmark, with a score of 77/100

As a leading provider of peristaltic and sinusoidal pumps, automated filling machines, tubing, hoses, fluid path components and post-sales support technology, WMFTS provides a range of fluid management equipment and services in multiple industries.

Stuart Roby, Managing Director at Watson-Marlow Fluid Technology Solutions, said: “These results reflect the hard work and commitment of teams across our sites, who have continued to strengthen the way we govern and deliver our sustainability priorities. I am proud to see some of our sites now ranked among the top 5% of companies assessed.

“Sustainability is playing an increasingly important role in purchasing decisions, and stronger performance helps give customers confidence that they are choosing a partner committed to responsible, transparent and sustainable ways of working.

“Over the coming year, we will build on this momentum by sharing best practice across our sites, learning from our strongest-performing assessment areas and continuing to raise standards across the business. By doing so, we can deliver greater value for our customers while accelerating our progress towards Platinum-level performance more widely across WMFTS.”

WMFTS has made significant progress in reducing Scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas emissions (GHG) emissions, the transition to renewable energy sources across its manufacturing sites, and the conversion of its vehicle fleet to electric vehicles.

Some other significant achievements include:

  • Reduced water consumption by more than 20% since the company’s 2019 baseline
  • Achieved a 99% waste-diversion rate across its operations
  • Generated approximately 1,442 MWh of renewable electricity through on-site solar installations at three manufacturing sites
  • Supported colleagues in contributing more than 25,500 volunteering hours in their local communities between 2021 and 2025
  • Donated more than £1 million through the Spirax Group Education Fund since 2022
  • Included environmental, social and governance clauses in contracts with 100% of in-scope suppliers
  • Secured signatures to the Spirax Group Supplier Code of Conduct from 96% of in-scope suppliers
  • Achieved a 90% response rate from suppliers to its Conflict Minerals reporting programme

Warren Gopaul, WMFTS Sustainability Analyst, said: “The step change to Gold is a result of improved external reporting through the WMFTS Sustainability Report, improved governance and policy development. Policies, measures and results are the backbone of the assessment. These improvements enabled us to demonstrate more clearly the strength of our sustainability management system at WMFTS. Our next step is to maintain this high standard while continuing to make progress towards our refreshed sustainability roadmap.”
