Turning potato peel waste into valuable resources

Potato processors are under increasing pressure to improve efficiency, reduce environmental impact and make better use of every part of their production process. While peeling is an essential stage of production, the by-products generated can often represent an overlooked opportunity to create additional value.

The TOMRA Dry Peel Separator (DPS) uses Bredel as a dry-waste pump which enables food processors to reduce water usage and recover the potato skin and starch for use in animal feed or anaerobic digestion (biogas).
