Could Corroflon hoses eradicate corrosion in chemical transfer?
- Polypropylene braid provides a better alternative to stainless steel
- Helical wire rectifies kinking issues
This global player within the stainless-steel industry was experiencing severe corrosion of their locally sourced PTFE stainless steel braided hoses due to chlorine permeation. The hoses were being used to transfer various acids and chlorine from one plant location to another.
Aflex Hose was asked if Corroflon hose with Hastelloy helical wire and polypropylene braid, would eradicate the corrosion issue.
It did. Once Corroflon hoses were fitted, the customer saw that the chlorine product used does not permeate through polypropylene braid at the same rate as it does stainless steel. Secondly the risk of the hoses kinking has been minimised by the added helical wire.
