Bredel CIP among winners in Processing magazine’s Breakthrough Product of the Year Awards

CIP pump gets recognition for its innovation and significance for hygienic, energy-efficient and simplified cleaning processes

The Bredel CIP pump has been named a winner in Processing magazine’s Breakthrough Product of the Year Awards.

Bredel hose pumps launched the CIP pump earlier this year for hygienic, energy-efficient and simplified cleaning processes and is designed with a new rotor to enable companies to achieve the clean-in-place (CIP) cleaning velocity requirements of > 2m per second.

Processing magazine’s Breakthrough Product of the Year Awards honour technology solutions that made significant contributions to improvements in the process industries with the past year. The winners of the award are recognised for introducing solutions which help end users effectively manage tough processing environments, meet stringent safety requirements, reduce unplanned downtime and drive overall profitability.

“These awards celebrate major innovations as well as incremental improvements in technology that increase efficiency, productivity, safety and, ultimately, the bottom line,” Processing said.

By retracting the shoes during cleaning, the CIP pump eliminates hose compression during high-temperature CIP cycles, significantly extending hose life and reducing replacement costs.

Key benefits of the Bredel CIP pump include:

  • Reduces maintenance downtime
  • Reduces power consumption as there is no need to run the pump during CIP cycles
  • Compliance with food-safety standards (FDA, EC1935, and 3A)
  • Extended hose life by avoiding hose compressions within the CIP cycle at high temperatures
  • Hygienic design – the only point of contact with the fluid is the inside of the hose
  • High-accuracy dosing with flow independent of suction or discharge conditions
  • Reliably pumps abrasive products

Bredel CIP pump - available in sizes 20 (up to 600 L/h), 25 (up to 1800 L/h) and 32 (3200 L/h)

Steffen Knoedler, Customer and Sector Insights Lead (Food, Beverage, and Sanitary) at WMFTS, said: “The Bredel CIP pump represents a major advancement in peristaltic pump technology, designed specifically to meet rigorous CIP requirements with the correct fluid velocity and extended hose life.

“Companies no longer need to settle for CIP pumps that fail to achieve the required velocity or require manual switching into CIP mode. The Bredel CIP pump, which can automatically enter CIP mode, not only ensures maximum hygiene and energy efficiency but also delivers the necessary CIP velocity while extending hose life. These benefits make it an ideal solution for breweries, beverage producers, dairies, cosmetics manufacturers, and industrial operations that require multiple daily changeovers.

“The Bredel CIP pump - available in sizes 20 (up to 600 L/h), 25 (up to 1800 L/h) and 32 (3200 L/h) - is capable of automated CIP with a controller, which makes it unique.”
