A brewery explains how the Watson-Marlow Qdos pump automates hop extract dosing, delivering the precision needed to maintain consistent product quality.
Accurate dosing is critical when adding hop extract to the brewing process. Even small variations can affect product quality and lead to finished products falling outside specification. Previously, hop extract was dosed manually, creating a need for a more precise and reliable solution.
By using the Watson-Marlow Qdos pump, the brewery can automate hop extract dosing with the accuracy required for rates between 0.2 and 1.2 millilitres per litre. With precision down to a fraction of a millilitre, the pump helps ensure consistent product quality, reduces the risk of off-spec batches and removes the challenges associated with manual dosing. Qdos pumps can also be used for chemical dosing within clean-in-place (CIP) systems, making them a versatile solution for fluid path management in brewery operations.
