Engineering critical fluid technology solutions that support advancements in health and optimise the use of resources

"WMFTS is dedicated to sustainability at every step of our process. From sourcing raw materials to production and distribution, we prioritise sustainable practices that minimise our environmental impact and promote a positive impact on society.

"We invest in renewable energy and green tariffs, require minimum standards for human rights and environmental regulations in our supply chain, and are incorporating eco-design into our product development.

"Along with our One Planet commitments, we are good stewards of the resources and direct impacts under our control.

"Let us help you with your sustainability success."

Making progress towards our sustainability targets

In 2023:

  • All sites undertook community engagement totalling 6031 volunteering hours.
  • Waste to landfill at the end of 2023 was reduced to just 1.7% since 2019 of all waste produced.
  • All factories, except from our new Devens site, have ISO14001, and we have been awarded Silver Ecovadis ratings for two of our manufacturing sites.
  • We have completed life cycle assessments (LCA) on 63 % of our product families and eliminated 23% of our single-use plastic packaging since 2019.
  • We have reduced our GHG's by 54% ((6688 tCO2e) to (3070 tCO2e))through obtaining green energy contracts and installing on-site renewables.
  • We have implemented grey water recycling, rainwater harvesting and have reduced water by 6% since our 2019 baseline (at the end of 2023).
  • 74% of our sites have completed biodiversity initiatives and we are implementing 10% net gain on all new sites.
  • 89% of our key suppliers have signed our supply chain code of conduct and we have audited our first-high risk suppliers.

Supporting our customers with their sustainability goals

Product Spotlight

Optimising the life cycle of single-use products to protect sterile processing performance whilst reducing environmental impact brings us closer to our global net zero targets. In 2025 we proudly launched our re-engineered BioClamp®, a plastic sanitary clamp that has safeguarded fluid path connections for life science customers since 2011.

Now re-designed and manufactured to a highly efficient automated process, BioClamp delivers significant sustainability benefits to users.
